Mission Trip

As the pastor of this church our mission trip to the Seafarers International house in New York City was one of the most powerful acts of ministry I have been blessed to participate in. When we came back in the summer of 2019, I was sure that Saint Luke’s would begin a bi-annual tradition of attending mission trips. Well the best laid plans often go awry. After a few false starts, we are back on track to take another mission trip in 2023. We plan to partner with a congregation in Memphis, TN.

I am excited about this opportunity for our congregation. Mission work is important for many reasons but for me the key reason is giving our congregation an opportunity to share faith with the wider world. I am looking forward to this experience and the time we can share together working in God’s Kingdom.

If you are interested in attending the trip please let me know. The trip is scheduled for June 24-30, and it will involve sleeping on a church floor. Even if you don’t go, there will be many ways that you can participate in the trip. We will need prayer, assistance with fundraising, and help telling our story when we return.

Thank you for your faithfulness to God’s mission. I look forward to seeing how our community grows from this intentional time in mission.

God’s Peace,

Pastor Jason Schafer
